Privacy Policy for Lights Out: Reaction Timer

Last Updated: February 17, 2026

This policy applies to Lights Out: Reaction Timer on all platforms, including iOS (iPhone), Android, tvOS (Apple TV), and watchOS (Apple Watch).

The Simple Version

We made this game fun and safe! We show ads on iOS and Android to keep the app free. On iOS, you choose whether ads can be personalized through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. You have full control over what data is shared, and you can delete your online data at any time from the app.

What We DON'T Collect

  • We don't ask for your name, email, or phone number
  • We don't look at your photos or contacts
  • We don't track where you go or what other apps you use
  • We don't record you or listen to your conversations
  • We don't know your exact location

Analytics (Firebase Analytics) — Opt-In

The app uses Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage data such as screen views, game events (starts, completions, false starts), and session counts. This helps us understand how the app is used and improve it.

Analytics is disabled by default. On first launch, you'll be asked if you'd like to opt in. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.

You can change your choice at any time in Settings > Privacy > Share Analytics.

Apple TV (tvOS) and Apple Watch: These versions do not include Firebase Analytics. No analytics data is collected.

Firebase Analytics is provided by Google. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Advertising (Google AdMob) — iOS & Android

We show ads to keep the app free. Ads are displayed during cooldown periods triggered by repeated false starts. On iOS, you will see an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt asking whether you allow tracking. If you allow it, Google AdMob may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to serve personalized ads. If you decline, ads will still be shown but will not be personalized.

Android: Google AdMob may collect advertising data as described in Google's Privacy Policy. You can manage ad personalization in your device's Google settings.

Apple TV (tvOS) and Apple Watch: These versions do not include advertising. No ads are shown and no advertising data is collected.

See Google's Privacy Policy for details on ad-related data collection.

Online Leaderboards & Profiles (Supabase)

The app uses Supabase to store online leaderboard scores and player profiles. When Leaderboard Sync is enabled, the following data is stored:

  • An anonymous device-generated UUID (player ID)
  • Game Center or Google Play Games display name (if authenticated)
  • Selected emoji avatar and theme
  • Game scores and streaks
  • Performance statistics (best reaction time, average reaction time, consistency score)

No email address, real name, or contact information is collected. We do not store recent game history or last-played timestamps.

You can disable online sync at any time in Settings > Privacy > Leaderboard Sync.

What Stays On Your Device

Your Game Data

  • Your Scores: All your reaction times are saved locally on your device.
  • Your Settings: Preferences like colors, sounds, and vibration choices stay on your device.
  • Your App Icon: The app icon you pick stays on your device (iOS only).

Game Center (Apple GameKit) — iOS & tvOS

  • The app integrates with Apple Game Center for leaderboards and achievements
  • This is optional — you can play without it
  • Game Center data is managed entirely by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy

Google Play Games Services — Android

  • The Android app integrates with Google Play Games Services for leaderboards
  • This is optional — you can play without signing in
  • Play Games data is managed by Google under Google's Privacy Policy
  • To delete Play Games data, open the Google Play Games app and go to Settings

Apple TV (tvOS) Specific

The tvOS version shares most privacy characteristics with the iOS version, with these differences:

  • No advertising: No ads, no advertising frameworks, no advertising identifiers.
  • No app tracking: No tracking prompts since no advertising data is collected.
  • Controller input: Uses the Siri Remote via Apple's Game Controller framework. No additional permissions required.
  • No analytics: Firebase Analytics is not included on tvOS. No analytics data is collected.
  • Same online features: Supabase leaderboards and Game Center work the same as iOS and can be controlled through the in-app Settings.

Apple Watch (watchOS) Specific

The watchOS version is a standalone companion app with minimal data collection:

  • No advertising: No ads, no advertising frameworks, no advertising identifiers.
  • No analytics: No Firebase Analytics or any analytics framework.
  • No online features: The Watch app stores all game data locally on the watch. No Supabase sync, no Game Center.
  • Local only: All scores, settings, and game data stay on your Apple Watch.

In-App Purchases

The app includes optional tip jar purchases processed through Apple's StoreKit (iOS/tvOS) or Google Play Billing (Android). We do not store any payment information — Apple and Google handle all payment processing under their respective privacy policies.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. Data is only shared with the service providers listed above (Google, Apple, Supabase) as necessary to provide app functionality.
